* Available as of January Blessing. * Summonable via magic artifact. "V will receive an earcuff carved out of a seashell that, when consciously removed, will summon Marinell to his side." * Off living his best kelpie life when not summoned. * Promise tattoos on V's left foot and ankle. Swirling waters. * Can kill on his own, but also being a fully real creature, Marinell can be killed in kind.
* Kelpie, "A fairy of Celtic folklore that lives by the water that looks like a horse. It is friendly at first goading you to ride it, but tries to drown those who do. Once tamed, it is a mightily loyal steed."
* Marinell, "the knight of the sea"; son of a water nymph, he avoided all love because his mother had learnt that a maiden was destined to do him harm; this prophecy was fulfilled when he was stricken down in battle by Britomart, though he was not mortally wounded.
โ APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY: * "Marinell is an equine fae, roughly the size of a horse. Marinell is mud and slate colored with dark eyes and a bright turquoise seaweed growing from his mane. Agile and strong, the kelpie's greatest weakness is defense. It is weak against lightning damage and casts water spells of its own. While Marinell won't let any person ride on their back, they will consent to carrying a pack."
* "Marinell is a stubborn and prideful kelpie who was won over by Griffon's crass call for a fighter to join him and his summoner. Marinell is an older kelpie who mistrusts the efficacy of the other races of Fellden to truly save it. He wanted to lend his courage and make his own mark on the fray. V's sharp eye for the upper-hand and Griffon's total commitment to a fight have cemented the kelpie's loyalty to them."
โ ABILITIES: * Drown. "Inflicts five hits of moderate Water-elemental damage per enemy." * Taunt. "Drastically lowers enemies' defense and raises their offense." * Kick. "Kick damage to 1-3 foes." * Charm Bite. "Medium physical damage and 40% stun to one foe. Charmed targets are bewitched into attacking their own allies or use healing spell on the enemies."
