FACTION: Moon Temple TATTOO: ๐ Waning crescent in the palm of his left hand in the Temple's blue and gray colors. HOUSING: Hakuno's home outside Fidei.
CLOTHES:Pinboard. Black, Moon Temple appropriate clothes. You can only see a little bit of his tattoos around his hands and his neck. SPECIES: Human GENDER: Male AGE: Appears to be in his 20s. Is actually X Days Old. HEIGHT: 6'2" (190 cm) but he's a tired slouchy boy, he doesn't look quite that tall unless you stand him up straight. BUILD: Lanky HAIR: Black Hair EYES: Blue VOICE: Sonorous, languid, throaty. Sometimes he does the William Shatner and draws things out for no discernible reason other than to be dramatic. Hope you're ready for dramatic poetry readings. [ All V Cutscenes ] OTHER FEATURES: What tattoos he has depends on which familiars are available to him, and then which familiars may be summoned at any given time.
โ TDM: V was in the middle of something when he was summoned to Fellden. Weak and disoriented, he was immediately mobbed by over-excited Moon Temple revelery and had to be extricated from their clutches by the likes of Lightning and Mia. He even encountered some familiar faces in the city when both Nero and Dante recognized his noisy chicken squawking overhead. He eventually retreated to the Temple district for some quiet. Still avoiding the over-eager locals, he accidentally ended up in Kyst where he was conscripted into helping with decorations after Griffon's failed attempt to find him some lunch. This required the help of Hakuno, Dimitri, and Orchid to fully complete. In the evening, he had the misfortune to encounter another familiar face in Vergil and luckily nobody died.
โ Intro Log: After taking care of warmer clothes, food, and some rest V was ready to face more of the new challenges posed to him. He attempted to practice with the local magic of Fellden, but mostly found himself still too weak. He received some consolation from the likes of Bruce and Clary. He also got solidly owned by someone better at it than him. With that embarrassment out of the way, he and Griffon moved on to a bit of courier work in order to learn their way around the city. Visiting Kyst to observe the Winterfest celebrations turned out to be too much excitement for Griffon who menaced many. He stole some gloves and some cinnamon rolls, and he menaced the trees which drew ire (and bemusement) from Dimitri, Rey, Korra, and Nero. V resolved to come back to view the trees later, without Griffon, and in the meantime went to look at masquerade outfits. He got directions on where he could indulge his need to wear all black from Hakuno and Lightning. They also got a bowtie for Griffon, so now they're ready for the ball. In the evening, he had the misfortune to run into Vergil again.
โ Masquerade: V and Griffon attended the party. Under the enchantment, Griffon became a real bird and was able to hang out and interact separate of V. Still, he spent most of the party in the chandelier playing sentinel because Lightning is a paranoid chick. He did however make some exceptions to hit the buffet, check in on V, and have a little chat with Dima. V spent much of the party debating food with Edelgard, Izuku, Constantin, Sal, Billy, and Lottie. It was the topic of the night with so many home favorites available. He only agreed to dance with Hakuno, but also found himself involuntarily under the mistletoe with Mercedes, Grell, Klaus, and Bakugo during the night. While he refused to be kissed by any of them, he made conversation with most. He also had a strange conversation with D in the garden, and a few words with Lady Temperance under the fireworks. He warned Dante not to make a mess of things, and when he found Vergil tucked away from the party, essentially warned him not to make a mess of this chance to be with his family. The enchantment over the party stopped anyone from being hurt, but V was still angry when he bumped into Nero. Not thinking clearly or maybe thinking perfectly clearly, who knows, V took one of the Warlock's violins home with him from the party as a gift for his idiot other self.
Following new blessings, V was invited to live with Hakuno, which he accepted and told her about his plans. He wrote to Dimitri and Mercedes to thank them for various kindnesses from the party and included them in his plans. He checked in to make sure Connie actually made it home. He shared his thoughts on his discussion with Temperance to Vergil, and got some bribery money from Dante. He recruited Lightning, Haein, and talked with Syrlya. He found the new 'encrypted' network to be suspect, and would rather not recruit from it, but he did talk to Haein again about his suspicions regarding Temperance. Met Loki. The 'family' made plans for the house in Basir. V attended the audience, and took a look for more recruits afterwards.
โ Drums of War Part 1 TL / Part 2 TL: V made preparations with Clary. On the Temple grounds he discussed ominous dreams with Squall, but went home to the house outside the forest to help Hakuno with supplies before going scouting. On patrol, they encountered and drove off Star spies Izuku and Loki, as well as finding Connie passed out. Woops. V turned a batch of villagers over to Mercedes to take deeper into neutral territory. He then helped to ward their village with Dante on watch. He taught the ice rune to whoever needed it.
Then the battle was on. V went to look for a mount, but came away with a kelpie who wanted to fight with him, but not be ridden. V had little time to train with the kelpie (or introduce it to Hakuno) and also help those in need of preparation before they all went into battle together. V & Co specifically fought with Stars members Dimitri, Billy, and Bigby. He declined to fight with Loki because he was tired and on Day 5, when he had no reserves left, Grell tried to corner him. V ran for his life and Constantin teleported him out of that sticky situation. Thank god. Alive but exhausted and beaten up, V fainted on the road to Jarl's Keep, but Lightning was there to scrape him back up. Finally, he let Hakuno and Clary he'd be home as soon as he could. He just has a few questions to ask questions about books while he's getting patched up at the Keep.
โ TDM: V went with Louis and Zero to take care of the nokken. With it sorted, he took a tour around the bay with Shay, and before he could make it home talked to Sypha about magic. Saw Nero again.
โ Tipping Scales Tier 1: V spends the first week of February at the University. Took a call from Clary. He reconnected with Syr, Loki, and Haein for various academic reasons. Played at being schoolboys with Connie, and made social inquiries of Izuku, Lottie, and Klaus H as to how they were getting on. V gave Dante a 'visit' in jail upon returning to Moon territory.
โ Uncertain Respite Open Log: While at the University on his quest, he met with Connie & Loki. Once returned from the University, V shared what he had learned with Syr. After, V tried to go about his many businesses. He scouted for the Moon Temple with Wuxian and also tried to do some community outreach in Kyst reading stories to children with the supervision of Mercy and Orchid. He tried to help Lottie with upcoming Eve of Promise crafts. He trained with Clary, and spoke to both Vergil and Klaus M + Aziraphale about various upcoming quests. Some of the news was disturbing enough to contact the Warlock. The Eve of Promise was disruptive. He sent some mean flowers to Grell, which she responded to. Got into difficult situations with Connie, Klaus H, and Syr. He was so irritated, he reached out to Clary to ask for wards. On the Day of Separation, he encountered Mercy and Neria in the Gods Wood. After all the excitement died down, he got to apologize to Connie and Klaus H for all that Eve of Promise excitement. Then he met with Dimitri to discuss the quest to the other continent, and talked to Clary about the weird masked figures.
โ Intro Log: Griffon inducted himself into a the demon bird gang. He harassed Zero, Melisandre, and Lapis. V finally lost his patience with it and used Griffon to help Liem.
โ Divinity Waking Open TL: V does his best to help out. He scatters and reallocates offerings, he smashes shrines, he casts nagation runes and warding spells, he channels magic to crystals and his familiars and even the Warlock. Learns about Fortuna while Wuxian channels magic to her. He smashes shrines with Klaus, practices magic with Clary, Dimitri, and Felix. He gets the advice from Acubens from Ashe. He helps Orchid and company fight Levianthan, picks a fight with Grell while he's haughty with magic, and drives magic-crazed beasts out of town with Nero. Learns about the birth of gods with Lottie, and about wild magic from Syr. V sneaks away from the chaos to collude with Korra. In the end, despite all his hard work he still ended up giving a charging crystal to K.
He sends a thank you letter to Dante and poems to Clary and Hakuno.

V can use Griffon to double jump, or glide with him, though the gliding only last for a few seconds before V starts falling again."
* "Griffon is an extremely talkative, foul-mouthed, and wisecracking bird who constantly insults other characters or makes digs at their expense. However, Griffon is also thoughtful, often questioning and acting as a voice of reason to the stubborn V about their course of action. Despite his obtuse attitude, Griffon has a kind side and greatly cares about his comrades, especially towards V. While not above playfully teasing V and playing pranks on him, Griffon constantly worries about V's health throughout the game and usually tries to talk him out of fighting when he doesn't have to."

โ APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY: * "Shadow takes the form of a large panther (as opposed to a saber-tooth cat) with enormously muscular forelimbs that give it a bulldog-like build, and red eyes with visible white scelera. Its body features glowing lines pulsating faintly whenever it moves."
* "Shadow maintains the personality of an attack dog, aggressive yet disciplined and always awaiting for V to give the order before he attacks. While unable to properly communicate with humans, Shadow is shown to be very intelligent and is able to understand V's words. Despite a rough first meeting, Shadow is very loyal to V and is rather affectionate towards him. In Nico's reports, she notes that Shadow is docile around V, despite belonging to a demon species known for being hostile towards humans, and often naps around him."
โ ABILITIES: * Shadow Combo A. "Follow up Shadow's claw attack with a series of piercing tentacle strikes. Automatically becomes an air attack for airborne targets." * Shadow Combo B. * Available as of December Blessing. * Contract associated to the tattoos on V's back, down his arms, and in his hair. * "V can hasten a familiar's regeneration by summoning Nightmare, which will instantly revive any downed familiar." * "Unlike the other two familiars, Nightmare is capable of killing enemies without any need for V to finish them."
โ APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY: * "Nightmare is a gargantuan pitch-black golem, roughly humanoid in shape, but without a distinct head, and bulbous spiked hands resembling tree roots. Its body is comprised of a demonic fluid with some solid metallic plating: this fluid expands and contracts into Nightmare's body in a manner similar to breathing. Nightmare's most notable feature is its glowing purple core, located at the base of where its neck would be. While not summoned, Nightmare appears as black coloration in V's hair and as tattoos on his body."
* "Like the original Nightmare, V's Familiar Nightmare appears to be an automaton designed purely for combat, and exhibits no meaningful personality traits beyond its incredible capacity for destruction and instinct to protect V at any cost. In Nico's reports, she considers Nightmare to be mindless. The only thing it seems to understand is not to attack its master or fellow Familiars, and unless V is riding on it, it does not respond to orders and acts according its own intuition. Although, contrary to his appearance, Nightmare seems to display some degree of sentience and intelligence, such as in its attempts at intimidating V (before being contracted to him), having a sense of self-preservation, or coming to acknowledge V as its master once he gave Nightmare back its core."
โ ABILITIES: * Nightmare. "Expend your demonic power to summon Nightmare, a beast from the Underworld. Nightmare attacks enemies automatically, depleting your DT Gauge while summoned. Your defense is increased while Nightmare is active." * Nightmare Combo A. "Nightmare unleashes a brutal flurry of punches at the enemy." * Nightmare Combo B. "A new combo for Nightmare, spreading his powerful blows across a wider area." * Desperado. "Nightmare swings down both fists for a hearty ground slam."

"Nightmare's sweeping laser strike that burns enemies over a wide area." * Critical Position. "Nightmare's sweeps a laser attack from ground to sky." * Illegal Move. "Nightmare moves instantly towards the target."
โ NERFS: * Restricted to roughly human size. * Summoning entrance is not an attack.
* Available as of January Blessing. * Summonable via magic artifact. "V will receive an earcuff carved out of a seashell that, when consciously removed, will summon Marinell to his side." * Off living his best kelpie life when not summoned. * Promise tattoos on V's left foot and ankle. Swirling waters. * Can kill on his own, but also being a fully real creature, Marinell can be killed in kind.
* Kelpie, "A fairy of Celtic folklore that lives by the water that looks like a horse. It is friendly at first goading you to ride it, but tries to drown those who do. Once tamed, it is a mightily loyal steed."
* Marinell, "the knight of the sea"; son of a water nymph, he avoided all love because his mother had learnt that a maiden was destined to do him harm; this prophecy was fulfilled when he was stricken down in battle by Britomart, though he was not mortally wounded.
โ APPEARANCE & PERSONALITY: * "Marinell is an equine fae, roughly the size of a horse. Marinell is mud and slate colored with dark eyes and a bright turquoise seaweed growing from his mane. Agile and strong, the kelpie's greatest weakness is defense. It is weak against lightning damage and casts water spells of its own. While Marinell won't let any person ride on their back, they will consent to carrying a pack."
* "Marinell is a stubborn and prideful kelpie who was won over by Griffon's crass call for a fighter to join him and his summoner. Marinell is an older kelpie who mistrusts the efficacy of the other races of Fellden to truly save it. He wanted to lend his courage and make his own mark on the fray. V's sharp eye for the upper-hand and Griffon's total commitment to a fight have cemented the kelpie's loyalty to them."
โ ABILITIES: * Drown. "Inflicts five hits of moderate Water-elemental damage per enemy." * Taunt. "Drastically lowers enemies' defense and raises their offense." * Kick. "Kick damage to 1-3 foes." * Charm Bite. "Medium physical damage and 40% stun to one foe. Charmed targets are bewitched into attacking their own allies or use healing spell on the enemies."
โ AVAILABLE: * Cane. "Upon finishing demons off, V seems to use his cane to absorb the power of defeated demons, enhancing the strengths of his familiars with it." * Checkmate. "Finish off dying enemies." * Gambit. "A teleportation technique. Throw your cane at a target to appear next to them. Using this move to a dying enemy will kill them instantly." * Touch and Move. "Teleport to the next target the moment you finish off the enemy in front of you."

* QUEST ASSIGNMENT: (Screened) Link. * QUEST LOG:Link. * QUEST OBJECTIVE: Go learn some theory about magic in Fellden from a Professor at the University! * QUEST REWARD: V will now have access to Professor Havilliard as a point of contact at the University! While he doesn't teach magicโonly theoryโhe'll be usable as an NPC going forward for V and, if enough trust is built, a valuable asset in V's assignment to stop the summoning ceremony. In addition, V will receive a spell tome for his personal library, however it will only be readable to him! Once V reads the book in its entirety, he'll have learned Counterspell and will begin at the Novice level with the opportunity to work up from there. The spell will allow him to cancel out the spell of another as they're casting it, however there are some limitations: V may only cancel out magic of the same level (Novice spells only until he levels up from practice), may only use the spell once per day, and his target must be within reasonable sight! This spell requires a hand movement to activate. This spell will be opt-in to other PCs but will work against NPCs with similarly low-level magic. It can be upgraded using blessings or future quest rewards! His impact rank will also increase from 1 to 2 and will be granted a title on the Impact Pantheon.
Magic/mana flows outward from Fellden to Otherworlds. Oftentimes that mana also comes back into Fellden like a great cycle of life!
Q: What is the basic form of Fellden's magic, its basic state. A: Particles to be moved and manipulated. Magic works at the atomic level.
Magic also flows throughout Fellden and its inhabitants. It's been verified by another Otherworlder (The Commander/Syrlya) that when magic is taken from the world, less of it returns, hence the decay of the world. The larger the amount of magic used, the less returns.
Q: Expound upon what determines whether or not the magic returns, if known. Will accept theories. A: Unknown. Three theories! One: Magic is being consumed by the world to live, thus preventing it all from returning. Two: Magic is being funneled away by someone or something but in amounts that make it nigh impossible to trace. Three: People who use magic are absorbing that small amount instead of releasing all of it back into the atmosphere.
The cycle of magic used to be in perfect balanceโor close to it!โbut has grown more unbalanced the longer the war has gone on. The decay of the world/loss of magic speeds up as the years pass and has reached a new high in its loss. This is thought to be due to a combination of the summoning ceremony, the draw of magic on the world by the number of people using it, and Otherworlders coming in using their own magic and learning Fellden magic. All of this is draining magic at a faster rate as 98% of all life is now constrained to the last remaining habitable continent.
Q: What are the details that make the summoning ceremony specifically such a drain? A: The professor will be vague but say that supposedly moving between Fellden and Otherworlds, paired with allowing Otherworlders to walk between worlds, is the largest drain of magic. Crossing universes takes a lot of work!
There are people studying how to cycle the magic/mana back into Fellden more effectively once again but it's very slow going as people still have to use magic in order to place it back into the world!
Q: Who is researching it? A: Syrlya is one PC working on it. He has a research team in R&D who works on tracing the flow of magic, their group has an off-shoot that focuses on how to return magic to the world. There's also rumor that Temperance is doing something similar but the professor has almost no information on that aside from the rumor itselfโTemperance is a sensitive subject!
* QUEST ASSIGNMENT: (Screened) Link. * QUEST LOG:Link. * QUEST MEMBERS: V, Ashe, Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji * QUEST OBJECTIVE: Venture to the Abandoned Manor on the Western Isles, investigate the library, and survive. * QUEST REWARD: V will now have one third of a weapon that can be reconstructed to use against the summoning ceremony. It will take the place of two mages in the requirements but he must convince the other group members to give him their pieces. The Warlock will provide reconstruction of the scepter but it will come with the warning that it will be powered by using the life force of its wielder. Dangerous!
V will also receive a pendant from the Warlock that will give him a one minute immunity to the power of the glaivewrung, ten gold pieces, and the scepter once it is reconstructed.
Additionally, while V's impact rank will not increase, he will be granted a new title on the Impact Pantheon.
Creature unknown to the rest of the main continent. Now lives in the Abandoned Manor of the Western Isles. Won't threaten the mainland.
Wards can be acquired to resist its effects for a short amount of time. Its main observed effect is to consume the will power of those who come close to it, at a fairly large range.
